“Wow…”
“That’s pretty!”
“Our Sworn Bloods didn’t give us anything like that!”
Whispers went on and on.
“I forgot his name, but he helped me in creating this owl.” Georgina said, smiling.
The owl landed on my shoulder, and snuggled itself into my hair. I smiled. My hand reached up to stroke it lovingly.
“Thank you Georgina.” I was grateful to what she had done.
“Oh, here. This is what you keep it in.”She handed me a lavender card. It was long, and right at the bottom of the card, it wrote, Snow Owl. Above the wordings, there wasn’t anything at all. Just blank.
I lifted the card in front of my owl, and slowly, it got absorbed back into the card. The picture wasn’t an owl. It was a beautiful girl with very light brown, almost snow white long hair, high cheekbones, and brilliant scarlet red eyes. She looked powerful, and strong.
“If you ever need to summon your owl, just throw it up in the air. Oh, be aware of this. The Snow Owl has ability to summon it self out of the card. And its very good friends with a snow liger, Rosario’s Snow Hawk and my Fire Kitten.” Georgina said, as we sat down.
Rosario sat directly in front of me, when a young girl with black hair walked over toward him.
“Rosario. Our Lord needs to speak to you.”
He nodded. He turned around to face me.
“Sis..--” He began, but I interrupted him.
I smiled warmly, and said, “I understand. Our Masters and Mistresses stand first.”
He smiled gratefully, as he walked out of the classroom.
“Rosaline! Are you alright?” Cesarina’s voice thick with worry and concern.
“Cesarina, I’m fine. And my name is Rosanna.” I said.
“Rosanna? Oh my, are you the Princess? Daughter of King Antonio of Italian vampires?”
Cesarina asked. I nodded, and her eyes widened.
After Mr. Lance, our human Literature teacher began left, letters began to be passed around.
I reached under my table to find my book, something pricked my finger. Blood began to ooze out quickly. I winced. Lifting my finger to my lip, I licked the blood off, and took a wet tissue to clean the wound. I looked under my desk, and saw another midnight rose, and a violet card.
Frustrated, I opened the card.
Mi querida,
You don’t know how worried I am! When I heard from rumors that you’ve passed out. It hurt my heart. I was worried, my heart racing. I know you’ve kept roses. This is the fourth rose only. There will be many more to come, by the time the tenth rose come, you’ll know who am I.
The bell had run five minutes ago. Pieces finally snapped together. Same color. Same item.
Until they decided to send something more deadly.
Your neck, so soft and inviting.
This is the fourth rose only.
Oh why oh why! Why was I so silly? Why did the thought just slip through me? This… This person…
He’s…
A Vampire Stalker.
The card practically slipped from my fingers, making a noiseless landing on the floor. My head bowed, I stood up. Eyes glanced over to me, I walked out of the class. I could feel Georgina’s worried glance. I stepped out of the building, the snow landing gently on me. The snow was refreshing. I sat down on the steps. Stalkers… They actually kill the victim they’re stalking. Provided the victim knows they’re being stalked. But I’ve never heard of this before.
“Hey.” a voice said, deep, low, seductive and soothing but somehow bored and cold. The voice was definitely familiar.
I looked up, and, oh, I really felt time stop. He was a heart stopping guy. He had dark brown hair, almost black. His side fringe was long to cover his right eye slightly, and his hair was slightly spiked, and tidy. His midnight blue eyes held mine, mesmerizing. And like mine, had a mysterious feeling in it. His eyes were so deep, it could have reached his soul. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt, the sleeves folded neatly up. His dark blue jeans hugging nicely around his legs. He had a scary and mysterious aura. He was too gorgeous, no. He was even better looking than Lukas was. He was too gorgeous to be a human. I tried to look at his soul, but something blocked me, and if felt like slamming into a wall when you’re not looking.
“Might if I join you?” He asked.
I nodded.
“Why are you sitting out here alone? When it’s lesson time?” He asked.
“Then, why are you out here?” I questioned him back.
“Oh, it’s free period in college. I got bored, and I wanted to see how my guardian’s doing.” His voice sounded wary.
“I see…” I said, glancing at the snow.
“And you haven’t answered my question. Why are you out here in the cold?” I blinked, and I parted my lips, unsure if I could trust him.
“Oh, don’t worry. Even if it’s scary, or dangerous, I won’t tell anyone. I promise.” His voice was so, so bored, but somehow convincing, my entire story about the stalker spilled out.
His eyes didn’t change at all. Just wary. After I finished, I realized I was tearing. I need to stop this. Before I could wipe the tear off my face, his finger reached out to wipe it off. Electricity shook through the both of us.
“What’s your name?” I asked, slightly breathless.
“Bel De Luca.” he replied.
“Rosanna Salvatore.” I said.
He chuckled.
“I know you. You’re the daughter of King Antonio. Everyone’s talking about you. And of course, you’re the school most talented singer. Weird. I thought your name was Rosaline.” He said.
I froze. “King Antonio? How did you know?” I asked.
“King Antonio is like, my distant uncle or something. I’m Italian, just like you Rosanna. And I’m a Swornblood. Not like it makes any difference.” He laughed sarcastically.
“An Italian? Uncle Luke? What, doesn’t that make you my distant cousin or something like that?” I asked.
He nodded, and smiled sadly. His sad smile held my breath so tight, I could nearly died of suffocation.
“So you’re sitting out here because you’re afraid of the stalker.” Bel said, not in a form of a question though.
I nodded, and sighed. I placed my elbows on my knees, and my face cupped between my hands. He chuckled, and kept silent for a moment, before taking my wrist lightly.
I glanced at him. His eyes was filled with sadness, but still mysterious, glancing at the tattoos on my wrist, before meeting my eyes.
“You’ll be safe.” He said, before kissing the top of my hand gently.
It felt like a electric shock. I looked at him, dazed, as he let go of my wrist. He stood up, and began to walk off, but he stopped.
“You’ll be okay, Princess.” He said, before continuing to walk down the hallway.
I looked at his back, until it dissolved into the dark corner of the hallway. Just then, for a second, I saw a pair of silver eyes with a shade of crimson red irises. When I blinked, it was already gone.
I stood up, brushing off the snow off my clothes.
I’d miss second period, so I dragged myself to third period. Third period was a drag. Miss Amelia talked about the needs of humans. Gosh, it was boring. But I’m glad I chose two Health Science. One on humans, the other on vampires.
“… And so, if you want to cure the cut, you take a wet clean cloth, and wipe off the blood, and then you take antiseptic cream, apply on it, and then cover it with gauze. Of course, legends said that vampires could heal wounds just by flicking their tongue over the wound. Which is silly, really.” Miss Amelia said, laughing gently.
Miss Amelia, after all, was a vampire. So she didn’t have a hard time putting up with a lie, all though it was the truth. Human health science was, thankfully, taken without Georgina, Stephan or Cesarina. In the room was only Cornelia, who was, sadly, human.
“Okay, you may start doing the process of bandaging a wound.” Miss Amelia said, clapping her hands together.
“Hey…” Cornelia said.
I raised my head, and met her calm eyes.
“Yeah?”
“Are you okay? I heard from Georgina you ran out of class the moment the bell rang, and you missed second period. Literally.” Her voice concerned, but her eyes still calm.
“Yeah. I’m fine. I just… had a stomachache.” I said, lying.
“Oh, okay. I hope you feel better!” Cornelia said, her eyes with relief, and her voice relaxed.
I smiled, but inside I was feeling nervous.
