“You.” I hissed.
“Nice to see you, Destined blood.” Stephan said, smirking.
“Why are you here?” I said, controlling my anger.
“Vampire Hunter, remember?” I squeezed my eyes shut, and breath deeply. I opened my eyes, relaxed.
“Fine, hands off any vampires. I’m warning you.” I said, unable to resist the urge to yawn.
“Looks like you’re worn out.” I swayed, nearly hitting the ground. Maybe having two visions in a day was exhausting. Shawn reached out to grab me before I hit the ground. Realizing he was still a hunter, felt like a slap on the face. I jerked back, and glared at him.
Now that we were so near each other, I realized, he was actually good looking. His dark brown hair was short, but his fringe was touched his eyebrows, but slightly curled up, and his sideburns were long. His black eyes dark, and deep. He looked like a very bad boy. He smiled gently and said, “I won’t hurt any of them. I promise.” He turned around, and walked away. I stood there, staring at his back. When he walked away, I met Georgina on the way to class.
“Rosa, I’m going out of campus to check out some sales. You want to come along?” she said, her face glowing with excitement.
“Sure, I’d love to.” I said, smiling gently.
“Okay. We’ll leave at noon.” Georgina said.
I nodded, and headed to History vampire class.
“Mythology always has a difference in everything. Myths, facts. What actually is a Myth is that it ain’t real. Everyone here knows that. And what else do we know. Myths. Rosa.” Mrs. Ambrose called. I looked up from my book, and sighed.
“Myths were legends, rumors. The vampires before us, our ‘fore-fathers’ believed that vampire stalkers are deadly. It was just a myth. That the vampires would send a gift to another vampire. Time to time, repeating a same color in fact. Until, when he intends to strike, he gives something more scary, more deadly. But it’s just myth. No one has yet proven it.” I said. Lucky for me, I was well prepared for Mrs. Ambrose’s class.
Lessons past by like a blur. I blinked, and it was already lunch.
“Rosa, how’s lessons?” Georgina asked. I was talking to Cornelia that I forgot about Georgina.
“Noioso.” I said, in Italian for boring.
She smiled back, and she went back talking to Raquel.
After lessons, I walked to the hall with Raquel, chatting happily. We reached the hall, Lukas already there, sitting on a chair, reading his thick novel. I glanced at his book, but he was already placing a bookmark in between the pages.
“For now, I’ll just train Raquel. Rosa, you’ll be the ‘guinea pig’.” Lukas said. I nodded, and sat down cross legged on the floor.
Raquel was much more powerful then I could give credit to. Her eyes diluted, the hall began to change. It turned into a dark forest. I glanced around, and there were crows and ravens sitting on the trees.
“Not bad.” Lukas said.
I chewed on my gum. Training for Raquel went on and on, until it was five in the morning. Lukas called for a day, and Raquel and I walked back to the dorms.
“Rosa.” Lukas called. I turned around, and he was a foot away from me.
“You’re going out with Georgina right?” I nodded, and he smiled.
“Stay safe.” He said softly.
I managed to get another five hours of precious sleep before I woke up. I changed into another midnight blue blouse, white shorts, and a gray sweater. I placed my favorite black hat on. My hate was square-ish, and had a cover. It looked like those hats from magazines. I led my hair down, and my hat covering the top of it. My bag was a simple black bag, big enough to keep my Gothic box inside, and a few accessories.
Georgina wore a white blouse with a simple brown jacket, and black and white miniskirt. We walked out of our dorm, and headed down the school gates, gaining males’ attention. They whistled at Georgina.
“So, what did you need to get?” I asked.
“Hm, just some new clothes, and jewelry.” Georgina said. I smiled, as we took a the car Georgina had hired. I was sleepy, but I was wondering why Stephan was in the academy.
Yawning, I asked, “Why’s Stephan in our academy?”
Georgina looked confused. “Stephan?”
“Sure, the hot Vampire Hunter who joined recently.”
“I don’t know, perhaps I could ask him.”
“Sure, just be safe.”
I said, resting my head against the seat, and took a nap.
When I woke up, we had already reached the mall. I yawned and rubbed my eyes. We stepped out of the car, and we walked into the mall. Georgina dragged me to a designer’s store. She flipped through the clothes, and saw a black miniskirt with a thick white belt going across it.
“It looks so you, Rosa.” Georgina said, handing the skirt to me.
“It does.” I said, laughing.
She grabbed a few pieces of clothes for herself, and we went to paid. We walked over to the Jewelry shop, and my eyes laid on a pair of black crystal necklace shaped in a form of a cross. It had small diamonds decorating it., shimming in its casing.
I wanted to buy it, but glancing at the price, it was too expensive. I sighed, as I walked over to glance at sapphire necklaces.
“Rosaline.” A voice utterly familiar called. My neck jerked up, as I turned around.
My eyes widened, as Lukas stood in front of me.
He smiled gently. Gosh, I loved his smile.
“W- what are you doing here?” I stammered.
“Hmm, just checking if you’re doing a good job.” He replied.
He glanced at Georgina, and chuckled.
I half smiled, and suddenly I felt tired. But of course, I couldn’t keep my guard down just yet. Giving myself two mental slaps, just looking at the hot Lukas.
“Rosaline!” Georgina called.
I turned around, my hair baring my neck for a few seconds. I felt Lukas stiffen, as I walked toward Georgina.
She shown me a beautiful diamond necklace she bought for herself. I smiled, as I helped her wear the necklace. It simmered against the bright light, and shone brightly. I smiled. We walked back to the car, Lukas silent, and he walked slightly further away from us. I was curious why he was behaving like that, but before I could ask him after we got into the car, I fell asleep.
When I woke up, I felt refreshed. I walked back to my room, to find a midnight blue rose lying on the floor just outside the door. Midnight blue? Rose? Those were my favorites. There was an expensive card lying beside it. I bent down, and picked it up. Georgina was dying with curiosity about who the sender was.
I opened the card, and saw a beautiful handwriting. Written in blue ink, it wrote,
Il mio amante,
Just like a beautiful rose you are,
Beautiful in every way, just like the petals of a rose.
But dangerous and scary, like the thorns of a rose.
Be wary, Il Mio Amante,
For who ever wants you, will get you.
Il mio amante… My lover. Italian. Was this admirer from my Italian class? I bit my lip, wondering. Still wondering, I took off my hat and placed it on my table, beside the rose, and I went to shower.
When I came out, the rose was in a small vase. I smiled. I tied my hair into a ponytail. Grabbing my sweater and books, I walked out of the dorm. It was chilly. I was thankful for my sweater though. I placed it on, as a warm hand grabbed my wrist. Curious, I turned around, and saw Stephan looking at me.
My eyes narrowed, frustrated.
He held a sarcastic smile. I sighed, and he let go of my wrist.
“Hello, dear destined.” He said, smiling.
I stared at him. He sighed, and handed me a small box.
I opened the box, and my eyes widened.
If my eyes weren’t cheating on me, I’d say it was the expensive black crystal cross necklace I saw earlier. I hugged my books to me, as I ran a finger across the necklace, another hand holding on to the box. My eyes flashed up to Stephan, as he smiled, not sarcastic anymore, but more friendly.
He lifted it out of the box, and helped me put it on. I touched it lightly, and met his gaze. He smiled, and said, “Someone wanted me to pass it to you.”
“Who?” I murmured, my fingers touching the necklace again.
“I don’t know. It was at my door early when I opened it for the first time.” He said, his hand was shaking, if my eyes weren’t deceiving me, I swore I saw his silver whip in his coat.
I grinned, and kissed his cheek. He froze, and then, when he saw my smile, he slowly smiled too.
“I think we’ll make good friends.” He said, laughing breezily.
I nodded, and laughed gently.
